brooke bond tea cards, unissued sets

would any collector of brookebond tea cards, have any knowledge of sets of cards, that were planned to be issued, by brooke bond, but was never released ?

before a company issues sets of cards, their must be many ideas put forward about various themes that could be made into a series, and even some preparation.
i ask this question, as a couple of years back on ebay, a set of cards, supposedly planned for issue, but never made it into full production, was a series titled 'GAME BIRDS'.
this set was a larger size, possibly like the going wild set, and and to be in a set of twenty five cards.
the seller said that he had purchased the artwork from brooke bond, and that he was able to print out sets to order.
the starting price, has far as i can recal, was around ninety pounds a set, and he had at least one bidder on a set.
since then, i have never came across this set on ebay again.

i would like tohear from any other collector if they have any knowledge of this set, or any other planned, but never issued sets

i guess much thought goes into planning the next set of cards to be issued.
brooke bond used many an emminant scientist and illustrators for their card sets, so months , possibly years have to go by from the planning stages, till issue in the tea packets.
it would be interesting to go behind closed doors, to find out ideas put forward, for new subjects, and how far they got with planning of sets.
one thing that often puzzles me, is that when they reissued their black backed sets, why did they go for their more modern sets as reissues, rather than more scarcer older sets ?
a while back, i purchased the brooke bond picture cards catalogue, and two sets, 'history of aviation', and 'prehistoric animals', reissued in 1974, were found as originals in tea packets in 1971 and 1972.
the market at the time must have been flooded with originals, yet were reissued, yet scarcer sets, just to name two, as 'out into space' and 'bird portraits', were not reissued.
i would have thought there would be more of a market for older sets, rather than sets, a few years before

i think the black back sets were reissued because of demand from collectors they ran out of stock of the originals. the prehistoric animals and history of avation were reprinted a few times. on normal white card . thin white card. and very rough greyish card. you will need a hell of a lot of cards to sort them but it can be done.

theres on thing that puzzles me with  all the GB brookebond cards  is mr shifter and the judge from the chimpstickers taktic backs .these two cards are by a country mile the rareist GB brookebond cards  i have no idea why. you might see 2 or 3 a year on ebay sell for £15- £25 each

 i am aware of the differences in card stock from the original and reprints.
before i began collecting cards, i did have several sets of the prehistoric animal sets, but never at the time, got round to obtaining the album.
i purchased the reissue set, only to obtain an album, so i have an original set, as well as a reissue set, which is on thinner card, and can be seen when the two sets are stacked together side by side.
i still cannot believe that there was a greater demand for more recent sets, rather than scarcer older sets.
incidently, i did know dr. alan charig, only for a few months before he died, and also the artiost maurice wilson, a rather eccentric looking artist, wearing open toed sandald, and an old mac raincoat, tied up with string, yet appearances can be deceiving, as he was an astounding wildlife artistof great accuracy, and some of his restoration paintings proves he had much knowledge upon the science of palaeontology, as well as general natural history..
it is sad when one looksat a person, and their first appearance sometimes gives a mistaken appearance of their true character.
it is very much like the victorian and edwardian wildlife artist, archibold thorburn.
cigarette card collectors may know him, by the modern players issues, of 'british mammals', he would sell a apinting just for a bottle of whisky.
with the tic tac back chimps stickers, as this card set is not within my theme of collecting, by brother often brings home sheets of tic tac paper for my children, and the word tic tac, can be a very hit and miss, to enable it to be on the back of the card.
sometimes by the spacing  of the tic tac, a card could be seen either with tic tac at the back, or without it, as their are gaps between tic tac, or at least with sheets of this paper that i have seen.
tic tac is only a trade name of an adhesive paper manufacturer, an d my brother often brings sheets of this paper home, without any printing at the back, possibly in my opinion made by a different paper manufacturer

 your right it is weird i cant think of any other sets of cards. were some not all of the reprints are worth more than the originals .queen elizabeth 1 11 worth a lot more than the original set

if you have a look at the brooke bond on ebay look for someone called( mr pgtips )very big brookebond collector. im sure he will know something about it. allways replyed to  any questions ive asked him
