We all do things we regret in life. In collecting too most of us have made a few mistakes. Buying cards we shouldn't have bought or selling cards we really should have kept hold of. Perhaps you realise that the card you had the opportunity to buy but didn't would have transformed your collection...

I regret giving away my Gum card/sweet cigarette card collection when I left school.
Also a few years ago someone was selling original printing plates of A&BC gum Footballers on ebay.I was the underbidder,I regret not going higher.

Not really a decision by myself BUT - when I
joined the RN the fifties, I left my card collection
with the family for 'safekeeping'.
I had 2 years away before returning and the
family had decided that as I had now 'grown up',,
my card collection should brighten up the lives
of some disadvantaged boys in the care of the
Salvation Army - and they donated the lot (I
particularly remember I had all 3 Chix footballer
series.
Had to say (that's OK by me) through severely
clenched teeth!!

I collected loads of bubble gum sets in the 60s. I gave all my duplicates to a friend who didn't get as much pocket money as I did. They would be worth a bomb now.
