hi dant melys,
i have just been on the LCCC website, and it is selling at £8 plus album
just go into their main website, and where it says 'search for cards', type in 'zoo', and it is one of the first sets on there.
as i have commented, i have purchased two sets from ebay, one in complete mint condition, at around half the price of the LCCC set, so how murrays can ask for over £30, is up to them

Hi Fossil ,
I see it , LCCC are selling the cards plus an album while Murrays are selling a comic plus gift inserts .
A slight difference .
Many thanks and good luck with your card quests .

both e-bay shops seem to be coming in for a lot of flack with lots of Amerian customers complaining about the
high
price of shipping and
lack
of customer service .
I've received e-mails stating that if you complain about charges the shops block you from bidding .
what a pity that the murraycards name that was built up over so many years and had a good reputation is slowly losing it .

Did anyone see the recent Murraycard auction which finished last Sunday, I believe? I wasn't very taken with the minimum prices set. I couldn't locate any images on the web-site, despite what the catalogue stated.

Hi Lachlan ,
I thought it was a rather weak selection of cards on offer and wondered if the auction was made up of lots that hadn't sold on e-bay and they were offereing them up to colectors that might not frequent e-bay as regular as others .
The Murraycards (I'd like to stop calling them that as the Murrays aren't involved anymore) e-mail contained 10 rather poor scans of cards from the auction but they couldn't be enlarged for closer detail .
A poor start that surely must get better ...or not .

what is happening to murrays cards ?
today, i have noticed that they are now able to accept orders, and to browse their catalogue ?
i have noticed that although their catalogue is still up, whenever you search for a set, all of wills and players are excluded.
a month before their closure, in november, i visited their shop to purchase cards, and one of their card sets, they only had odds, or a part setin their store, yet their online catalogue still shows it as they have a complete set for sale.
i am not sure what the new owner is planning to do, or where they are planning to take the name of murrays, but by some of the prices on ebay he is selling items, for and unclear information, i don't feel too pleased with what appears to be happening

fossil - I would assume that the 'catalogue' is now
merely a priced list of what they have in stock and
NOT, as previously, a definitive list of ALL cards
that have been issued over the years.
If you take into account the millions of cards that
the Ebay seller (Collectabilia?) said that he bought,
the stock list could be rather threadbare of
mainstream issues
I'm just guessing, of course

I'm finding most of my requests (1960's confetionery cards) for odds/types etc can't be met by dealers ,stocks must be dwindling on the less common issues .

I received this email yesterday.
Dear All,
We are pleased to announce that the website is now reopen for business. Why not browse through the catalogue where there is sure to be something you desire.
Kind regards

The range of sets for sale at the moment is significantly less than that previously offered. Nothing, or precious little, in the way of the popular manufacturers such as Wills & Players - somewhat unusual, I'd have thought, though maybe a nod to the fact that many of the sets, certainly post WW1, can be acquired much cheaper through Ebay.

HI ALL,
I CAN ANSWER SOME OF THE QUERIES MENTIONED IN THIS THREAD. COLLECTABILIA BOUGHT NEARLY ALL MURRAYS STOCK OF CIG CARDS FROM PLAYERS, WILLS, L&B, GALLAHER, CHURCHMAN, OGDENS (INC. GUINEA GOLDS & TABS) AND ALL THE TRADE CARD STOCK ISSUED BY A&BC, ANGLO, SOMPORTEX, EDMONDSONS, PASCALL AND A FEW OTHER ISSUERS. YOU CAN FIND A GOOD SELECTION ALREADY ON EBAY, ALTHOUGH IT WILL TAKE US APPROX. 5 YEARS TO GET THROUGH EVERYTHING!!!
